Step by step installation guide for sql server 2008 r2

I am planning to install ACtive - Active node on physical servers. I have successfully installed the SQL Server cluster on primary server. I do not know what I need to do on Secondary server.

The options I see is add a node but that will give me active - passive configuration, I do not want that. I think you may made a misconception here. The configuration you are talking about is possible when you have more than one SQL Server Cluster instance installed on your cluster nodes. The content you requested has been removed. Ask a question.

If you want to feature all of these features, then click on Select All. Once the option are selected click Next button to proceed further. Click on the Next button. Step Instance Configuration Instance Configuration is the crucial part of your installation where you need to choose among the two: Default Instance or Named Instance. Default Instance is the one under which there an Instance name which is being defined and cannot be changed, and you can have only one Default Instance.

Step Disk Space Requirements Your system should surpass the requirements of space required by the installation process. Click on Next button. Step Server Configuration Sever Configuration page shows up the service accounts and collation configuration. This page supplies server options for the Database Engine component. Here is where the Windows service account is configured so that SQL Server will have permission to execute and access to files.

Also configured in this page is the initial startup type, which determines whether the services start automatically when Windows starts or whether they require manual starting.

Click on the Use the same account for all SQL Server Services to provide the username and password as given in the below screenshot. After inserting the Account Name and Password, Click on Ok and all the empty username and password filled with the provided username.

Select the account name from which you want to run your services and select the startup type of the service. You can change these settings as per your choice. FileStream This tab will allow you to enable FileStream feature. If you want to learn FileStream, you can read my article for the same on the following link. Step Installation Rules Setup will perform a check to ensure everything Ok to proceed further with installation.

If all rule passes, click Next. Click on Install button to start the installation process and track the progress as shown below. Click close to complete the installation process.

Step 3: Setup Support Rules, Here setup will perform a check to ensure whether you can proceed with the installation or not. Other edition like Enterprise, Standard, etc. Step 6: Setup Support Files. Click on the Install Button. If all checks get passed it is a good signal to proceed further.

If status is passed, click Next. Step 8: Feature Selection. Click Next and after this, all the steps are same as shown in above installation. We have seen the steps involved in fresh installation and also what are the steps involved when we install another instance.
